Paul Steinhaus has been the varsity coach at N.E.W. LHS the past ten years leading the Blazers to four conference championships, seven WIAA regional championships and six sectional final appearances. 2006 and 2007 saw the Blazers become Sectional Champions and reach the state's Final Four. What a great experience for all!!! 2007 also marked a mile stone as Coach Steinhaus reached 200+ wins for his tenure as head coach of the Blazers. The Blazers have been affiliated with the WIAA since 2000.
The success of 2006 allowed Coach Steinhaus and the Blazer staff to be recognized as Coach of the Year by the Bellin Night of Champions program. Annually, this program recognizes one coach for this distinction from any sport from all the high schools (30+) which Bellin provides training services. In 2000, Coach Steinhaus and his staff were also recognized as volleyball Coach of the Year by the Green Bay Press Gazette.
The Blazers have been consistently ranked in the state's top 10 in division 4 the past 5 seasons. In 2005, Paul had the distinct privilege to coach one of the state's All Star Teams. Paul has coached at the grade school level, the college level, and everything in between. Presently, the Blazers run a very successful grade school camp, which has been filled to capacity the past seven years and a statewide coaches clinic, headlining coaches have included Debbie Kirch-UWGB, Kathy Litzau-UWM, Pete Waite-UW, Brian Schaefer-UWO & David Boos-UM. Other coaches who have led clinic topics include: Matt Houk-UWGB, Chad Schreiber-Lakeland, Brian Schaefer-UWO, and Paul Steinhaus as well as the Bellin Sports Medicine Team.
