Keyboarding

This class is designed to help students develop a keyboarding speed of 40 words per minute and learn to use word processing software to create, store, print, and edit business and personal-use documents. The course will be covering the following topics:

 

 

  • How to log on to the Internet
  • Search the Internet
  • Alphanumeric Keyboard
  • Numeric Keyboard
  • Formatting text
  • Changing Alignment
  • Proofreaders Marks
  • Personal/Business Letters
  • Envelopes
  • Keying for Speed and Accuracy

Accounting

In this class you will learn:
  • General Journal approach
  • Accounting equation
  • Automated accounting (use of the computer)
  • Account types
  • T-accounts
  • Journalizing
This class is different then most courses.  It is a lot like a foreign language.  Accountants will use terms that are not used in everyday vocabulary.

Microsoft Office

In this class you will learn: 

  • A continuation of Internet search techniques
  • An introduction to computers
  • Microsoft Word
    - Reports
    - MLA term papers
    - Converting to Web page
  • Microsoft Excel
    - Creating Spreadsheets
    - Charts and Graphs
    - Converting to Web page
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
    - Creating Presentations
    - Inserting text, graphics and other items
    - Manipulating text and graphics
    - Create an "All About Me" slide show presentation
